The six weeks of Lent are a significant season for Christians, it is a time for self-reflection, confession, learning, and prayer. These weeks prepare our hearts to better celebrate more fully God’s Redemption at Easter, and to understand what that means on a personal level for each of us.

Shrove Tuesday at St John’s

Lent Course: The Heart of Christianity
This Lent we invite you to join a five-week course based on Marcus Borg’s thoughtful and accessible book The Heart of Christianity. The sessions will explore what it means to be Christian today, engaging with questions of faith, belief, and transformation in a changing world
The course will run for five sessions, 7.30–8.30pm, at St George’s Campden Hill on Wednesdays from 25 February to 25 March.
Led by Jenny Davenport and Clare Heard, each session will include a short introduction followed by open discussion. All are welcome, whether you are familiar with the book or approaching these questions for the first time. Copies of The Heart of Christianity will be available to purchase in church from 1 February.
